Collage Collection
Textile designer and colorist Marie Bastide has specialized for several years in the creation of Rugs . Her cutting-edge expertise in specific techniques and know-how in this field enable her to approach Rugs with great creative freedom, as evidenced by the Taoka, Doblas and Coban pieces produced in collaboration with Édition 1.6.9.
Beyond its decorative vocation, the Collage collection elevates Rugs to a veritable work of art: a territory of expression and experimentation in which the designer never tires of exploiting the full range of possibilities.
The Collage collection, presented at the Milan Furniture Fair in 2022, was born of a human encounter around a residential project, and illustrates the richness of Nepal's ancestral hand-knotted craftsmanship. The fruit of passionate research into shapes, colors and textures, Rugs Taoka, Doblas and Coban boldly and forcefully convey the sensuality of a vibrant, fluctuating nature: an inexhaustible source of inspiration for Marie Bastide... Drawing on a highly contemporary abstract pictorial register, the designer evokes here, in subtle balance, the intimate power of memory.
